Dan In Real Life

Kind of non-descript but I liked it anyway.

IMDB Plot Synopsis A widower finds out the woman he fell in love with is his brother's girlfriend.

  1. This movie is basically the exact same as The Family Stone, but surprisingly that’s not a bad thing nor is it even a boring or repetitive thing. What I liked about The Family Stone is what I like about this one: it’s nice to see a family that actually gets along and cares about each other.
  2. It’s amazing how Dane Cook’s character is the one who gets cheated on by his girlfriend and his brother and he still manages to come off as an asshole at the end. That takes skill, man.
  3. Steve Carell should be given the opportunity to sing whenever humanly possible. I think his singing is why “Diwali” is one of my favourite episodes of Season 3 of The Office. DON’T INVITE ANY ZOMBIES TO A CELEBRATION OF DIWALI…
  4. Steve Carell should also be given the opportunity to dance whenever humanly possible. Sometimes you just have to be the boss of dancing.
  5. This movie can be sort of saccharine and overly transparent in its attempts to manipulate your emotions, but since everything about it is so goddamned endearing, it’s forgivable.
  6. I enjoyed the soundtrack. It was very mellow. Thumbs up.
