- If you arrive at this movie assuming the premise is really freaking stupid to begin with, you won’t hate it as much. It’s not a good movie by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s funny in places and the action is okay. Plus it’s really, really short (88 minutes, but shorter without the credits), so that’s a plus.
- Movies like this really work for Hayden Christensen because it’s mostly action with a bit of angsty pouting and a side of normal acting. Also, I love him and I am not ashamed to admit it. Obviously, since I willingly saw Awake last year. I am shameless when it comes to ol’ HC.
- Anakin Skywalker would never, ever willingly spend time in Egypt because sand, as we all know, is rough and coarse and irritating and it gets everywhere.
- In case you didn’t know, being a jumper hunter (a.k.a. a Paladin) is tantamount to being on a mission from God to destroy unholy abominations. The Spanish Inquisition? Yes, they too were on a mission from God to destroy jumpers. Kill me now.
- Speaking of Paladins, they’ve come up with all sorts of devices to track jumpers. Whenever a jumper jumps, they leave behind a “jump scar” that I surmise is some sort of small rift in the space-time continuum. Cue Samuel L. Jackson getting out the most advanced device of them all, a can of spray paint, and making this overly dramatic motion to spray the jump scar and yell “We’ve got him!” or some such thing. Oh god, you just have to see it, I can’t describe how ridiculous it is. We were the only ones in the theatre laughing, though, so maybe it’s just us.
- Samuel L. Jackson is clearly seeing the same colourist as Sisqo.
- Tragically Hip on the soundtrack FTW.
- Best jump? When they accidentally jumped to what looked like a war zone and Griffin, the other jumper, says “… I hate Chechnya.” Hahaha.
- IMDB’s recommendation section is a little off kilter, methinks, because it’s suggesting that if you like this movie, you’ll also like Dances With Wolves. Erm, okay.
