Miami Vice

Not all cult TV shows need to be made into movies, you know.

IMDB Plot Synopsis Based on the 1980's TV action/drama, this update focuses on vice detectives Crockett and Tubbs as their respective personal and professional lives become dangerously intertwined.

Holy crap was it the most boring thing I’ve ever sat through in a movie theatre, and this is coming from someone who saw — and enjoyed! — The New World. I haven’t seen any of Michael Mann’s other films, but are they all this terrible? Because I keep hearing how wonderful he is and I’ve only heard good things about this movie and I’m wondering what kind of drugs these people are on and where I can get some. Hell, you’d think a movie with high-speed boats, exotic locales, excessive weaponry, and drug deals gone bad would be able to keep someone mildly entertained, but, alas, it was not to be. I’m not looking for high art here or anything, I’m looking for mindless entertainment and it couldn’t even deliver that.

Basically if Colin Farrell had traded in his cell phone for a ridiculously cute infant (a la The New World) things would have been a lot better.
