- I’m not sure who is loving this movie or why, but I’m baffled that it’s currently getting a 91% fresh rating at Rotten Tomatoes. I suppose it’s possible to achieve 91% through borderline decent rather than stellar reviews, bu I don’t know. I’m just not feeling it.
- This movie wants you to know that George Clooney Means Serious Business. I don’t think he smiled once during the entire film. He was merely okay. Not brilliant, just average. Eh.
- I like Tilda Swinton, I’ve decided. She’s like Meryl Streep: The Redux.
- I mostly couldn’t bring myself to care very much about the plight of anyone in the movie, not the people who died because of the carcinogenic U-North products nor the people who were busting their balls to get to the bottom things to flush out the truth.
- It was beautifully filmed, I’ll give them that. Lots of shiny surfaces and reflections and bluish hues.
- The score felt like it was strung together from a bunch of Law & Order scores, which is not inappropriate, just slightly boring.
- Tom Wilkinson was pretty good at swinging back and forth from manic to completely lucid. My mother has decided to nominate him for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar.
- My favourite part of the trailer for this movie was the shot where they’re peeling the paper off the wall after they’ve installed a new U-North sign. Turns out that was actually my favourite part of the whole movie.
- I must admit, though, that this is one of my favourite movie posters of the year:

It looks like a book cover, I love it.
