- Let’s not pretend for a second that the “romantic sparks” between the two leads actually have any interesting impact on this movie.
- “Teen dance flicks” are subgenre of film that Audrey and I tend to see regardless of whether or not they’re any good. (“Feel-good sports films” also fall into this category.) This movie is not terribly good, but I don’t think anyone is actually seeing this film because they’ve heard great things about the direction or the character development or the amazing, unpredictable plot. I think I probably said the exact same thing in my review of How She Move, but that’s how it is.
- I felt this movie actually had loads more dancing in it than most other movies like this, which was refreshing since it minimized the amount of time spent dealing with the actual plot.
- I admit I enjoyed the rag tag band of misfits they gathered for their crew, especially Smiles.
Step Up 2: The Streets
I should really stop seeing things like this in theatres and just wait for it on DVD.
