The Queen

Has the same feel as a made-for-TV movie.

IMDB Plot Synopsis After the death of Princess Diana, HM Queen Elizabeth II struggles with her reaction to a sequence of events nobody could have predicted.

This movie is a lot like Capote in that the performances are all really quite good, especially the leads who do in fact deserve any Oscar nominations they may get, but on the whole the movie is a little flat and doesn’t leave me feeling like I want to talk about it for days on end with people or recommend it to everyone I meet. The corgis were cute, though, and I enjoyed the costumes. That’s about all I really have to say. However, this marks the fiftieth time I’ve been to the movie theatre this year (but not the fiftieth movie I’ve seen, since I’ve seen a couple of films more than once). o_O
