this probably doesn’t shock anyone

Happy International Women’s Day! Do you know how I spent the last twenty minutes? COVERED IN BLOOD, on account of the horrific nosebleed I gave myself trying to respond to someone who commented on my “KATHRYN BIGELOW!” status update on Facebook to tell me there is no gender inequity in Hollywood.

  1. I wish we were friends on facebook just so I could read this exchange. I woke up today to read a friend’s tweet that said:

“and a happy Women’s day to all the girls that are legally aborted because their mothers have an alleged right oveir their bodies”

Yes, I had a come back. We’ll probably spend the entire day on this until he tells me to shut up and I hit the unfollow button.

ps: abortion is not yet legal in my country. there’s an human rights plan on congress now to change that and other stupid things, like no same sex marriage.

  2. It’s actually terrifying what kind of misogyny comes out of the woodwork on occasions like this. Whenever somebody says that we don’t need feminism anymore, I point to the crazies still out there. It’s not even their numbers, but their fervour.
