My sister emailed me this morning to tell me the all-important news that Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes are apparently getting divorced. My first thought was that I hope it was because he signed the Roman Polanski petition. My second thought was that now she can date Leonardo DiCaprio. I am a terrible person, I know. I do not normally care about the personal lives of celebrities, especially when it comes to who they date, but I’ve always loved that Kate and Leo are BFF in real life and thus I want them to get married and have thespian babies together. (I’ve also secretly theorized that this is why Leo dates random models all the time, because he’s been biding his time.)
I’m saying this out loud because I know you were thinking it.
It’s true. That was totally my first thought when I heard, too.
Truthfully, I first thought of what your reaction would be when I read about this.

It would be too good to be true. I’d just about die with happiness, considering my 7th grade wish would have at long last come true. But, apparently he’s her shoulder to cry on…
